DOUBLE WIN FOR REA AT ASSEN

Double win for Regina rider Johnatan Rea, who made an extraordinary performance at Assen, Honda Ten Kate home circuit.

Rea finished race 1 one second ahead of Toseland and Camier. For Camier, this is the first SBK  podium.

Good result also for BMW rider Troy Corser, who took the lead just before turn 1 but could not maintain the conquered position and closed the race fifth.

Race 2  was very combactive too, with a series of stunning overtakings for the all race, probably the most spectacular so far.  Rea traded places with Corser, Camier and Haslam, and conquered the first position by almost two seconds.

BMW  Finished in the top five twice, with Troy Corser obtaining his best result so far. Difficult  day for Ducati, with no significant results.

Next race will be held in Monza, Italy, on may 8th

Johnatan Rea: “You know, it’s been great, but I couldn’t have done it without my team; they gave me a fantastic bike today, so thanks to everyone – my crew chief, data guy, suspension guy, everyone involved. We changed the balance of the bike quite a lot for this weekend and it’s made it more comfortable to ride. I guess you could say that today’s two races were probably the smartest I’ve ever ridden; I never got frustrated or caught in traffic and, when it was time to pull the pin, I did, and I’m really, really happy with the double. It’s a clean sweep with pole position, a double win and, I think the fastest lap, so I’m as proud as punch and I can’t wait to take this home.”
